NASTAD
The PrEP/PEP access landscape has changed rapidly, with more changes on the horizon. To keep up with all the changes, the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) has developed an HIV PrEP/PEP Access microsite. This microsite provides users with a single platform detailing the latest information on changes impacting PrEP and PEP access. Please visit NASTAD's PrEP/PEP Access microsite (nastad.org/ prep-access) to view information and resources concerning the following:
- PrEP/PEP Assistance Programs
- State PrEP Assistance Programs

- HIV Prevention Billing-Coding Guide
NASTAD’s HIV Prevention Billing and Coding Guide aims to provide a foundation from which healthcare organizations can build their internal policies to code, bill, and resolve denials related to PrEP and PEP services. The 2023 update also covers considerations for implementing preventive service patient protections, including new medication coverage, USPSTF grade updates, updated Federal guidance on ACA coverage, and updated HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes.
The guide addresses CPT© codes and diagnosis codes that could be reported to the patient's insurance company or government payer, as well as provider credentialing considerations related to PrEP and PEP service delivery. It includes descriptions of scenarios for PrEP initiation and follow-up visits, including adherence and counseling services, as well as lab testing for HIV and other STIs.
